Scott joined the firm as of counsel in 2007. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and received his law degree from Columbia University Law School, where he served as an articles editor of the Columbia Law Review.
Scott is a trial lawyer, focusing his practice on criminal defense, family law, and civil litigation. He has served as a federal prosecutor in the U. S. Attorney’s Office in Philadelphia, and as a public defender in Chester County. He practices in all of the county courts in the region, and has litigated in federal court in Philadelphia and around the country.
Scott lives in West Chester. With his two sons, he is active in the Brandywine Youth Club and in the Brandywine YMCA, where he has coached a variety of sports. He is an active volunteer with Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers and is a former member of the Board of Directors of Elwyn, Inc.

Scott Godshall is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, assistant public defender for Chester County, Pennsylvania, conflicts counsel for Chester County, Pennsylvania, and conflicts counsel for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He has extensive civil litigation and trial experience as well as extensive experience in criminal investigations and criminal trials.
In the family law area, Scott has extensive experience in equitable distribution, support, and custody matters throughout southeast Pennsylvania. He administers the Custody Clinic twice-monthly for the Delaware County Office of Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
