Joe graduated Magna Cum Laude from Saint Joseph's University in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.  He attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School on full scholarship, graduating in 1963.  Before beginning his law practice he worked in the Tax Department of a big eight accounting firm in Philadelphia.  He earned a Master of Laws Degree in Taxation in 1976 from Temple University School of Law.

He joined Eckell, Sparks in 1964 and became a partner in 1967.  Joe's counsel is sought extensively on matters of estate, business, and general tax planning.  His demeanor is empathetic and gentle.  His reassuring nature helps reduce the stress often times found in legal affairs.

Joe is active in the Attorney-CPA Forum of Delaware County, serving as President in 1986.  He is also a member of the Delaware County Estate Planning Council.  His commitment to his clients and to the profession is reflected in his diligence to stay abreast of ever-changing laws.

Joe is married and has six children.  He lives in West Chester with his wife, Kathy, a high school teacher in the Ridley School District.  His hobbies are reading, traveling, and classical music.
