Leonard A. Sloane, a partner at the law firm “Eckell Sparks” has been selected as one of the top 100 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers for 2008. Mr. Sloane is one of the few lawyers based in Philadelphia’s suburban counties to be named to this list that represents The Top 100 percent of selected Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. The complete list of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers was recently published by Law & Politics magazine and appears in the June 2008 edition of Philadelphia Magazine.

Mr. Sloane is a civil trial attorney with over thirty years of experience. This is the third consecutive year that he has been selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer – a designation given to attorneys who have been nominated by their peers, reviewed by a blue ribbon panel and evaluated by an attorney-led research staff. See How Super Lawyers Were Selected.

Mr. Sloane said “This is a wonderful honor for both me and the law firm. I am delighted to be recognized by my peers.” Eckell Sparks is a Media-based general practice law firm that employs 14 attorneys with a branch office in West Chester.

Law & Politics researchers surveyed 36,000 active attorneys in Pennsylvania, asking them to nominate the best lawyers they have personally observed in action. Each lawyer was given a score based on the number of votes he or she received and the source of those votes.

All nominated attorneys were grouped into more than 55 areas of practice. Nominees with the highest point totals were asked to serve on a blue ribbon panel to review the list of nominees in their area of practice and assign points to each attorney. The point totals from the general survey, research process and the blue ribbon panel review were added together to come to a final total. The research department formed a final list of the elite top five percent of all lawyers in Pennsylvania. The Top 100 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers is an additional honor representing preeminent lawyers from all the combined categories.
