Right after residents reported hearing an explosion, a house fire erupted at a West Brandywine home, resulting in injuries to two children and four adults. All were rescued by firefighters from the four-alarm blaze.
The children were airlifted by helicopter from the 7,000 square foot house, which erupted in flames just before noon on Wednesday.
The stone home has an outdoor swimming pool and outdoor propane tank.
Cause of the blaze is under investigation, fire officials said.
